The One We Know Received a Ticket Into God's Heaven

HOW CAN WE BE SURE WE WILL GO TO HEAVEN WHEN WE DIE?

Perhaps the greatest aspect of following Jesus Christ should be the realization that we are recipients of God's Promise of Eternal Life. But many Christians still sometimes doubt the validity of their eternal salvation. After making a decision to follow Jesus Christ, being baptized, and after beginning to serve in their local church, even Christians may sometime question, "Will I really go to heaven if I die right now? Have I met all of those things required by God to be accepted by Him as being qualified to enter into His holy presence in heaven? Have I done things since deciding to follow Jesus that have disqualified me from entry into heaven when I die?"

They know the Bible says, "believe and you will be saved" or, "you must be born again to enter the Kingdom of God", or "whoever calls upon the Name of the Lord will be saved". But then they read in the same Bible, "You believe in one God, you do well, but even the devils believe and tremble" or "Not everyone who calls upon the Lord will be saved". They remember when Jesus taught that in the Last Days there will be those who approach Him as Judge and claim, "But Lord, we prophesized and cast out demons, and healed in YOUR NAME!" to which Jesus said He will respond saying,  "I never knew you. Depart from Me you who practice unlawlessness."

So the doubts in the minds of some Christians return and they ask again, "How can I KNOW I will go to heaven when I leave this world? Is there ANY example of Jesus actually telling an individual "You have made it! You are going to heaven!"

Having doubts does not mean that a follower of Jesus has not been "saved" or is not a genuine, re-born, Child of God. Our enemy, Satan, loves to plant doubts in our hearts to undermine our confidence and the boldness of our testimony. Satan knows that if we are not confident that we are genuine children of God we will be less bold in our proclaiming the Truth of The Gospel message. Satan knows that if Followers of Jesus "doubt" their own salvation and validity as apostles sent by God they will become complacent, withdrawn from Kingdom service, and continue to live in fear of God's ultimate judgment.

Satan wants us to live every day asking the questions that should have been answered when we accepted Jesus Christ as Lord: "Have I actually done what God requires for me to be saved? Have I done things since accepting Christ that have invalidated me from entering God's heaven? How can I know? How can I be sure?" It leads us to desperately want one definitive example of someone we KNOW met God's qualifications to be accepted as a redeemed follower of Jesus Christ.

I can think of one instance that portrays EXACTLY what is required for us to enter into God's eternal heaven. It is the ONE instance where Jesus Christ Himself tells a person that they are going to God's Heaven when they leave the world. It is the occasion when Jesus validates the criminal that was dying on a cross alongside the cross of Jesus as being qualified to meet and be accepted by God.  

You all know that story. Just moments before both Jesus and this criminal die, the criminal pleads to Jesus who is Himself bleeding and struggling for His own final breaths on the cross next to him  saying: "Jesus, remember me when You come into Your kingdom!” To which Jesus immediately responds, "Truly I say to you, today you shall be with Me in Paradise."

What did The Thief DO in order to qualify to enter into Heaven?

 I. Here are some things that The Thief did NOT do to qualify as being a "holy" person and
     to enter into Almighty God's presence:

A. He did not earn his entry by "good works" 

For crying out loud! This guy was being executed for being a bad person! He made no claim to be qualified because he had been a great philanthropist or having made great contributions to mankind. He was a "L-O-S-E-R"! Up to this moment in his life, this man was no doubt wicked without any redemptive or moral value to claim in this life. Who knows the extent and degree of sin in which this man had been involved? Perhaps he had murdered many people, stolen from hundreds, had been a pedophile, homosexual, adulterer, idol worshipper, and utterly wicked.  

The Bible explains that God is 100% holy and righteous. There is NO person who can live a life righteous enough to be accepted by God as being "holy" based upon their own merits. EVERYONE has defied God's will and control in their life at one time or another. We ALL are sinners, condemned "unclean" and in need of someone to remedy our uncleanliness. Surely, this crucified criminal had no claim for being qualified based upon his own righteousness. 

B. The thief dying alongside Jesus on the cross did not earn his entry into the presence of
    God in heaven by being a "religious" man. 

It is unlikely that this criminal was knowledgeable of The Law and teaching of the prophets or was an avid practitioner of the Jewish customs and rituals.

If he had been a "religious" man, he would have mentioned this to Jesus and those religious leaders standing below his cross would have known him. He would not likely be autonomous in The Biblical account we have today and at least his name would have been mentioned.

The criminal did not earn his entry into heaven by knowing a great deal about God's Law. He did not make the claim, "I have followed all the Laws!" as had previous men mentioned who had approached Jesus prior to His crucifixion. All of the men in those accounts who were seeking to gain entry into heaven were said by Jesus to have fallen short and denied acceptance. This criminal did not even have the audacity to suggest he might be qualified based upon his being a "religious" man.

Given the apparent sinful life of this man, it is doubtful he had ever practiced the Jewish religious rituals, made offerings or sacrifices at the Temple, or adhered to the Jewish Laws prior to his crucifixion. His "religiosity" was not a factor in his being qualified to enter into God's presence in heaven.

C. This criminal did not earn his acceptance into The Kingdom of God by being a faithful follower of Jesus prior to his crucifixion.

There is no reason to think that the criminal had ever met Jesus or had even listened to His teachings although, due to the celebrity and reputation of Jesus which had grown during His ministry, the criminal may well have "heard" of Jesus. However, there is the likelihood of his learning at least some limited understanding of the identity of Jesus if by no other means overhearing comments made while they were hanging on the cross. The "other criminal" being crucified along with this repentant criminal and Jesus said to Jesus in a mocking insulting manner while the three were dying on their perspective crosses, "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us!" So both criminals being crucified must have known that the crucifixion of Jesus had something to do with His claiming to be the promised "Messiah" prophesized in Holy Scriptures of the time.

The two criminals being crucified alongside Jesus no doubt learned a great deal through the accusations made against Him by those present and standing at the foot of the cross."If you are the Son of God, come down from the cross." and "You were going to destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days, save yourself!" The two criminals also witnessed the sign being placed by the Roman soldiers above the head of Jesus which read "King of the Jews" as they nailed his hands and feet to the cross. 

Indeed, there was ample opportunity for those present at the cross to learn much about Jesus simply by witnessing and hearing the insults and insincere, facetious, labels hurled from those religious leaders and accusers standing below His cross who were responsible for His being crucified. These criminals dying alongside Jesus must have gathered an understanding of the disdain for Jesus by the "religious inner circle" and Jewish power players and witnessed their hatred for Him resulting from His reputation as being the Promised Messiah of God.

But this repentant criminal certainly was not qualified to enter into heaven because he had believed in Jesus as God's Messiah in prior days nor had he been following and serving Jesus Christ as his Lord in the days before this, his final day on earth.

This criminal dying on the cross next to Jesus had "nothing" to offer to justify himself as being qualified to enter into God's Kingdom.

II. What the criminal dying on the cross alongside Jesus DID do to qualify him for entry into God's eternal Kingdom.

A. He "believed" that Jesus was God.

    How do we know this? Because of the criminal's confession:

    1. "Jesus, remember me when you come into YOUR Kingdom."

    GOD is the only One who OWNS The Kingdom

    2. He knew that Jesus had the AUTHORITY to forgive him for his sins and qualify him as a

    redeemed Child of God.GOD is the only One with the authority and ability to forgive sins.

B. He "confessed" his sins AND his devotion to Jesus as LORD of his life.

    This repentant criminal met another qualification from God when he professed openly that he was putting his complete trust in Jesus in front of all of those considered as being "religious" authorities who stood at the foot of the cross. This criminal professed that he was putting his trust in Jesus as having the authority and exclusive ability to give him access into God's Kingdom.

He made this profession by pleading for the acceptance of Jesus and publicly acknowledging that Jesus alone held the key to God's heaven.  

This criminal dying alongside Jesus was the ONE individual that defended Jesus that day when he lashed out at the other thief who ridiculed Jesus. This repentant thief shouted to the other criminal mocking Jesus, "Aren't you afraid OF GOD. We deserve this, HE has done nothing wrong!" In doing so, he was acknowledging his sinful nature and his being disqualified for entry into God's presence based upon his own merit.

C. He acknowledged that Jesus was The One and Only Way 
In the final moments of his life on earth, the criminal displayed his understanding that this Jesus dying alongside him was the ONLY way provided by God for humankind to gain entry into God's Kingdom. Jesus alone is all-sufficient for our eternal salvation. The dying criminal did not look to those Jewish religious leaders for absolution that stood mocking, hurling insults, spitting and despising Jesus at the foot of the cross. He only called out to "Jesus" for rescue and salvation.

The crucified criminal dying alongside Jesus cried out to this Jesus who Himself was bleeding and struggling for His last few breaths, "Jesus, remember me when You come into your Kingdom."

The response of Jesus to this plea for eternal salvation is the affirmation of just exactly what is, and is not, required for all people to be forgiven of their sins, receive eternal life, and to be accepted by God as His redeemed, holy, sanctified children:

"This day you will be with me in paradise."

SHOULD CHRISTIANS BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS

SHOULD CHRISTIANS BE INVOLVED IN POLITICS?

It is said, "If you want to remain friends with someone do not talk about money, religion, their personal sex life or POLITICS!"

Should Christians Be Involved in Politics?

There are some points that would support the notion that the answer is "NO"!

Even some followers of Jesus Christ would say that Christians should not be involved in politics because it could compromise your relationship with someone and jeopardize your ability to effectively share your testimony about Jesus Christ and your faith in Him. Others refuse to be actively involved in politics using the argument that "all politicians and governments are evil".

Some other followers of Jesus might refer to the incident in The Bible when Jesus was asked, "Should you pay taxes to Caesar (i.e., the "Roman government"). Jesus asked them to look at a coin and then asked, "Whose image is on it?", and of course, it was the image of Caesar, the Roman emperor. Then Jesus said, "Give to Caesar what is Caesar's and give to God what belongs to God." (Matthew 22:15-22) Some people conclude from this that Jesus was teaching that His followers should not even be involved in the secular, political institutions in the world but should only be focused on those activities which are "heavenly", "spiritual", or "worshipful".

But this "Caesar's-coin" reference is not the best lesson from Jesus as to whether we followers of Jesus should be involved in "politics" given the entire context and premise of the message and life of Jesus. The way we are to live our lives in all situations is to follow the "example of Jesus" as portrayed in the entirety of His life and ministry that is displayed in The Bible. Therefore we must ask;

"Was Jesus Himself involved in the politics of His time while on earth?" 

The answer is:

ABSOLUTELY!  

One must understand just what the "political" arena was in the time that Jesus walked the earth prior to His return to heaven after His death and resurrection.

Jesus was a Jewish citizen of the nation of Israel. His nation was controlled by the global power of Rome which was the sovereign political power over Israel during His time on earth. However, it was the policy of the Roman government to allow the local political institutions of conquered lands to continue to govern in matters of that nation's judicial issues as long as it did not directly conflict with the sovereign Roman law. This meant that Rome allowed the political institution of Israel to continue to operate and function over matters involving the Jewish people, of which Jesus and His disciples were certainly a part.

The indigenous Jewish political system was called the "Sanhedrin". The Sanhedrin and its institution not only performed and enforced religious rituals and worship but it also served in the judicial capacity over local issues. The Sanhedrin made decisions on domestic disputes, property issues, holidays, and the legality of the behavior of Jewish citizens as determined by their law's prescribed moral code. In addition to the population being obligated to pay taxes to the Roman government, Jewish citizens were also obligated to pay taxes to the Sanhedrin. Thus, the Sanhedrin was definitely the political system that was involved in the every-day lives of the Jewish people, probably more than that of the invading Roman government.

The Sanhedrin was very sensitive to its vulnerable relationship with the superior Roman political system so it always took care to avoid conflict with the Romans. It sometimes even interacted with the Roman politicians to achieve its own political agenda. This was evident in the process used to execute Jesus. The Sanhedrin collaborated with the Roman political representatives, namely, the main Roman ruler in Jerusalem named "Pilate", to have Jesus executed. This is why Jesus was executed by the use of the Roman method of nailing the criminal to a wooden cross until he died. But it was the Sanhedrin that tried, convicted and demanded the execution of Jesus through the Roman capital punishment methods.

A similar collaboration between the Sanhedrin and the ruling Roman political system can probably be said for the execution of the prophet called, "John the Baptist", who was a cousin of Jesus and lived during the times of Jesus on earth. This John was an extremely outspoken activist who was an adversary of not only the Roman-appointed political officer, Herod Antipas, but also of the Sanhedrin. Herod had been installed by Rome to govern over some of the provinces, or "tetrarch"- territory, of Israel.  

"John the Baptist" publicly called the political ruler, Herod Antipas, to "the carpet", so to speak, about his immoral practices (Matthew 14) and behavior. John's outspokenness was so relentless and extreme that it resulted in Herod having John arrested and ultimately executed by "beheading" (Matthew 14:10). 

Even though it was the Roman politician, Herod Antipas, who performed the execution, it is undeniably likely that the "Jewish" political institution, the Sanhedrin, was also involved, or at least supportive, in the execution of John the Baptist. This conclusion is supported by John's being a very vocal adversary of the Sanhedrin and its practices. John's opposition to the Sanhedrin members was equal in intensity to that which he directed toward Herod Antipas. John viciously attacked the injustice and hypocrisy of that Jewish political structure. He publicly announced their corruption in their faces to the point of their becoming hostile toward him (Matthew 21: 23-32).

Jesus was very vocal in his opposition to the Sanhedrin and its political practices as well as its manner of addressing spiritual issues. His outspokenness is seen multiple times in the Bible as He confronted them directly and forthrightly to the point of the confrontations becoming so intense as to bring the situation to the point of violence (Matthew 12:34/26:3). Jesus was extremely outspoken against the practices of the Sanhedrin regarding the injustice of their continued expansion and harsh application of their Jewish laws. He spoke against their practices that oppressed the citizens using methods such as their interpretation and application of tax laws (Mark 7:1-14) that infringed upon the very manner in which families functioned. Jesus called the Sanhedrin politicians out for enforcing laws upon the Jewish people that they did not even obey themselves. Can you imagine politicians behaving in such a way?!

Yes, Jesus Christ WAS a "political" activist!!

When observing the example we have of our Leader, Jesus Christ, and His involvement in the "politics" of His day, we can conclude that we, His followers, are certainly expected by God to be involved in the civil issues and matters which impact us and our societies today. This obligation requires Christians' involvement in the political structure that determines the legal aspects of those matters that impact the personal and collective bodies of society.

The political institutions serving in legal jurisdiction over our societies have a tremendous impact on the application of justice for those societies. As in the case of the Sanhedrin and the Roman Government's system during the time Jesus was walking on earth, our governments' decisions and actions impact the manner in which we function in our daily lives, even the way we raise and support our families. The government also has an immense impact on the moral fabric of our societies as well as literally having control over "life and death" situations (capital punishment, abortion, etc.).

In all cases, the governments that serve as the political powers throughout the world are indeed "worldly/secular" institutions. Even in those nations where the government may be labeled as a "religious" body, it still serves with both secular and religious powers. Due to the influence that all of these secular governments have over the moral, even spiritual practices and functions of the populace, it would be negligent for God's people to be indifferent and not involved in their functioning.

NO political system is infallible or without its own blemishes. NO professional or even volunteer politician involved is without his or her own personal blemishes, sins, and shortcomings. But there will always be differences in the character, intentions, actions, and motivations of all politicians. Christians must responsibly research the background and history of those involved to determine whose political agenda comes the closest to influencing society in a way more consistent with God's intent.

Even Christians living in nations where all politicians and the political structure itself is identified as being "pagan" or "un-Godly" must be activists and use their influence to impact their governments to function in a manner that is the most humane and moral as described in The Word of God, The Bible. A society can be run by politicians who are not Christians or who even do not acknowledge the existence of God, but some still support Godly principles and moral standards. The ancient ruler over pagan Babylon, Nebuchadnezzar was even used by God and served His purposes (Daniel 3:8-10).

Christians must always pray and earnestly seek God's guidance and wisdom when making decisions regarding what politicians and political positions to support. Some Christians even recognize the voice of God's Spirit in their hearts leading them to use their Godly influence in the political arena by serving as career politicians. There are times when those considered to be, and profess to be, non-Christians or even atheists, campaign for a political agenda that is more in harmony with the heart of God than others. 

For a Christian to stand on the sideline, be complacent and uninvolved in the politics which have local, national and global consequences is inconsistent with the examples and teachings we find in God's Word, the Bible. Christians are to display love and charity as they live in this world while at the same time not compromise on those standards mandated by God regarding justice, morality, religious freedom, and human rights and dignity. Our own views and standards always fall short of God's, but we must seek His guidance and support for our functioning in a manner in which He approves. God will hold us all accountable for not using what rights and privileges and opportunities He gives us for the protection, well-being, and justice of our fellow human beings and society.

"What Is Truth?"

Jesus stood before the Roman governor and judge named "Pilate" who would determine if Jesus would be executed or not. 

Pilate asked Jesus, "Are you the king of the Jewish people?"

Jesus responded, "My kingdom is not of this world." 

Pilate said, "So you are a king!"

Jesus answered, "I am a king, and everyone who is of the truth hears my voice."

Then Pilate asked Jesus the question which must be asked and answered by all humanity:

"What is truth?"

I have traveled the world and found that all people have a few things in common no matter what are their cultural differences:

- All people want to be loved

- All people want comfort and security

- All people are aware that they are created as spiritual as well as physical creatures

- All people are aware that they will be judged for the things they have done during their time in     this physical world.

One common "truth" that all people understand is that "Judgment follows death". It is evident that all people know this "truth" whether they admit it to others or not. You see it when people face death or when they have loved ones who die. People believe they will exist beyond death and that they will encounter judgment for what they did while in this world. This is the reason all people fear death. They are concerned about what they will encounter following death. They know that their spiritual identity (soul) will continue after their physical body no longer exists. Even people who commit suicide do so with the hope of finding some sort of merciful "Judge" who will provide a sense of release, peace, or relief from the cruel, physical world.

People fear death because they know they have done things during their physical life that are wrong and they know they deserve to be punished. Ask anyone, "Are you perfect?" and they will admit that there are some things that they have done wrong. They have hurt someone, lied or cheated. Sometimes we do not help others who are in need and we know it is wrong to be greedy and keep all of our money instead of using it to help someone else. All people are aware that they will face a "judge" who will hold them accountable for all the wrong acts they did during their life.

"Religion" is the teaching, or method, about how people can receive mercy from the "Judge" they face following death. There are hundreds of religions teaching different ways to solve the problem of being punished after we die. All "religions" address this issue, "What can I do to avoid being condemned by "The Judge"?"

"All religions are good"

Most of us have heard the statement, "All religions are good". We hear it most often when we are talking to others about "our" religion. This statement, "All religions are good", is a method used by the person listening to move the conversation on to other issues that do not make us uncomfortable. It is intended to say, "You believe what you believe and I will believe what I believe."

There is some truth in the statement, "All religions are good" because almost all religions do include some teachings that are "good" and teach people to do good things in their life. But even if all religions teach something that is "good", all religions are "different" and teach different ways to prepare for death and "meeting the judge".

 "But ALL fruit is STRAWBERRIES!"

Saying "All religions are good" is like saying that "all fruit is strawberries". True, "strawberries" are fruit, but all fruit is not "strawberries"; only one. No two religions offer the same solution, or, "The Truth", about escape from the judgment that follows death. However, each religion proposes that it is the only religion that teaches the correct solution on how to prepare for death. Since every religion teaches a different method as being the "truth", it means that either all religions are wrong, or, if one religion is correct, it is the "only" one that teaches "The Truth".

  

You and I must decide what we will believe. Who will we believe? Or as The Judge, Pilate, asked Jesus, "What is truth?"

This is the most important decision we will make in our entire life. The decision to trust in one way as being "the truth" is more important than the decision about who we will marry, whether or not we will have children, where we will go to school or what occupation we will choose. No decision is as important as the decision about who we will believe and what will we  trust. It is the most important decision because not only does our life in this world depend upon our decision, our "eternal" destiny depends upon our making the correct decision.

God created all people with a spirit as well as a physical body. That is because God is Spirit. He gave us a spirit so that He can communicate with us to tell us what is "the truth" about what He wants us to do and how He wants us to use our life. He is "The Judge" we will meet after death. It would be foolish if God expected us to follow His "truth" and did not explain to us what it is. God does tell us "The Truth" and even gives us evidence to prove that it is His "Truth" so that you and I can decide if we will obey His "Truth" or not.

In later posts we will explain more about the "evidence" God has given us to prove what is God's "Truth" so that we can decide if we want to obey it or not.

Think about it. "Pray" about it.

  ปีลาต ทูล ถาม พระ องค์ ว่า

“สัจจะ คือ อะไร?”

ผมได้เดินทางไปทั่วโลกและพบว่า ถึงแม้ว่าทุกคนในโลกนี้มีความแตกต่างทางวัฒนธรรมทุกคนมีบางสิ่งที่เหมือนกัน เช่น:

- ทุกคนอยากได้รับความรัก

- ทุกคนต้องการความสะดวกสบายและความปลอดภัย

- ทุกคนเข้าใจว่าพวกเขาถูกสร้างขึ้นมีจิตที่มีส่วนฝ่ายวิญญาณและมีส่วนฝ่ายกายภาพ

- ทุกคนเข้าใจว่าพวกเขาจะได้รับการพิพากษาสำหรับสิ่งที่พวกเขาได้ทำในช่วงเวลาของพวกเขาในยุคของพวกเขาในโลกนี้

 

"ความจริง" ที่ทุกคนเข้าใจกันก็คือ "การพิพากษาตามความตาย" เห็นได้ชัดว่าทุกคนรู้ "ความจริง" นี้ไม่ว่าพวกเขาจะบอกคุณหรือไม่ คุณเห็นพวกเขารู้เมื่อเขาพบความตายหรือเมื่อพวกเขามีคนที่รักที่เสียชีวิต ทุกคนเชื่อว่าพวกเขาจะอยู่เกินกว่าความตายและพวกเขาจะพบการพิพากษาสำหรับสิ่งที่พวกเขาทำก่อนที่พวกเขาตายและจากโลกนี้

นี่คือเหตุผลที่ทุกคนกลัวความตาย

พวกเขากังวลเกี่ยวกับสิ่งที่พวกเขาจะเจอหลังจากความตาย พวกเขารู้ว่าวิญญาณของเขายังคงอยู่แม้ว่าร่างกายจะตายไปแล้ว

แม้แต่คนที่ฆ่าตัวตายทำเช่นนั้น ด้วยความหวังว่าจะได้พบกับ"ผู้พิพากษา"ที่มีความเมตตาช่วยให้เขาพบสันติสุขและพ้นจากความทุกข์ฝ่ายร่างกาย

มีความจริงบางอย่างในข้อความว่า "ทุกศาสนาเป็นสิ่งที่ดี" เพราะเกือบทุกศาสนามีคำสอนบางอย่างที่ "ดี" และสอนให้คนทำสิ่งที่ดีในชีวิต ถึง่แม้ว่าทุกศาสนาจะสอนอะไรบางอย่างที่ "ดี" แต่ศาสนาทุกศาสนาก็สอนวิธีเตรียมตัวพบผู้พิพากษาแตกต่างกันไป ไม่มีสองศาสนาที่สอนวิธีการเดียวกันเพื่อหาทางหนีจากการพิพากษาที่ทุกคนจะเจอหลังจากความตาย

แต่ผลไม้ทั้งหมดคือสตรอเบอร์รี่

การกล่าวว่า "ทุกศาสนาดี" เหมือนพูดว่า "ผลไม้ทุกชนิดเป็นสตรอเบอร์รี่ มันเป็นเรื่องจริง "สตรอเบอร์รี่" เป็นผลไม้ แต่ผลไม้ทั้งหมดไม่ได้เป็น "สตรอเบอร์รี่"; เพียงชนิดเดียวเป็น "สตรอเบอร์รี่"  ไม่มีสองศาสนาที่สอนวิธีการเดียวกันเพื่อหาทางหนีจากการพิพากษาที่ทุกคนจะเจอหลังจากความตาย เนื่องจากศาสนาทุกศาสนาสอนวิธีแตกต่างเกี่ยวกับการเตรียมตัวสำหรับการเสียชีวิตเรารู้ว่าศาสนาทั้งหมดมีการสอนไม่ถูกต้องหรือถ้ามีหนึ่งศาสนาที่ถูกต้องศาสนานั้นก็เป็น

ศาสนาหนึ่งเดียวเท่านั้นที่มีการสอนที่ถูกต้อง นั่นหมายความว่าถ้ามีศาสนาที่สอนให้ "ความจริง" เกี่ยวกับวิธีการเตรียมความพร้อมสำหรับการตายและการประชุมกับ "ผู้พิพากษา" ที่จะตัดสินใจที่เราจะถูกลงโทษหรือไม่ นั่นคือศาสนาเดียวที่สอน"ความจริง"   

คุณและฉันต้องตัดสินใจว่าเราจะเชื่ออะไร เราต้องค้นหา "ความจริง" การเรียนการสอนอะไรเราจะเชื่อ?  เราจะเชื่อใคร? เราต้องถามคำถามเดียวกันผู้พิพากษาชื่อปีลาตถามพระเยซูว่า "ความจริงคืออะไร?"

นี่คือการตัดสินใจที่สำคัญที่สุดที่เราจะทำในชีวิตทั้งหมดของเรา การตัดสินใจครั้งนี้มีความสำคัญมากกว่าการตัดสินใจว่าเราจะแต่งงานกับใคร หรือถ้าเราจะมีลูกหรือไม่ หรือ เราจะดำเนินการศึกษาต่อต่อหรือไม่ หรือ เราจะเลือกอาชีพอะไร  สิ่งที่เราจะเชื่อและไว้วางใจเป็น

การตัดสินใจที่สำคัญที่สุด   เราอยู่ในโลกนี้เพียงเจ็ดสิบหรือแปดสิบปีเท่านั้น แต่การตัดสินใจเรื่องความจริงนี้จะกำหนดว่าเราจะใช้ชีวิตนิรันดร์ที่ไหน เราจะเชื่ออะไร และเราไว้วางใจอะไร เราจะไว้วางใจใคร  นี่คือการตัดสินใจที่สำคัญที่สุดที่เราจะทำได้

คุณถูกสร้างขึ้นด้วยจิตวิญญาณและมีร่างกาย พระเจ้าทรงเป็นวิญญาณ คุณมีจิตวิญญาณเพื่อให้พระเจ้าสามารถสื่อสารกับคุณได้ พระเจ้าต้องการให้คุณได้ยินพระองค์และรู้ว่าพระองค์ต้องการให้คุณทำอะไรในชีวิต พระองค์ต้องการให้คุณรู้ "ความจริง"

ถ้าความจริงคือพระเจ้าสร้างมนุษย์ทุกคนและพระเจ้าต้องการให้ทุกคนมีชีวิตอยู่เพื่อพระองค์เองพระเจ้าทรงเป็นผู้พิพากษาที่เราจะพบหลังจากที่เราจะตาย มันคงโง่เง่าถ้าพระเจ้าทรงสร้างเราและจะไม่บอกความจริงเกี่ยวกับพระองค์  พระเจ้าไม่ได้ทำให้เราโง่ พระเจ้าให้เรา "ความจริง" และ พระเจ้าทรงให้เรามีหลักฐานเพื่อ "พิสูจน์" สิ่งที่เป็น "ความจริง" พระเจ้าต้องการให้ทุกคนเข้าใจความจริงเพื่อให้เราสามารจะตัดสินใจว่าเราต้องการจะเชื่อฟังความจริงของพระเจ้าหรือไม่

บางคนคนวางใจในผีเพื่อให้ผีนั้นปกป้องเขาจากผีชั่วร้ายอื่นๆ ดังนั้นผีเป็นเจ้าสำหรับคนคนนั้นเหมือนกันสำหรับของขลังและพระเครื่องหรืออย่างอื่น

ทุกคนตัดสินใจเองว่าเขาเชื่ออะไรและเลือกสิ่งที่จะเป็นพระเจ้าของพวกเขา

แต่ถ้าพระเจ้าเลือกที่จะเปิดเผยตัวเองในรูปแบบที่สามารถมองเห็นได้ พระองค์ก็สามารถทำได้เช่นกัน

"Who Is Jesus"

Before a person can know who Jesus is, they must know who "God" is. You see, Jesus is God, and God is Jesus. This is confusing to many people because Jesus was a man, a human being. So how could He be God? Let's begin with answering the question, "Who is God?"

There is only one true God. The Bible explains it this way; "For even if there are so-called gods whether in heaven or on earth, as indeed there are many gods and many lords, yet for us (Christians) there is [but] one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we [exist] for Him; and one Lord, Jesus Christ, by whom are all things, and we [exist] through Him."
(1 Corinthians 8:5,6)

This says that there is only one true God, that is, only one God who is above all other spiritual and physical things, because He came before all things since He is the One Creator of all things. So if you worship a spirit that you believe is strong and that spirit is not the Creator of the Universe and all things, you are worshipping a god that is little in comparison to the One, Great, Creator God of the universe.

Spirits are not the only gods that people worship. Anything that you believe is more important than the One, True, Creator God and in which you depend upon for your protection, provision for prosperity, health, or anything else, is one of your gods. If you believe and trust in someone who started a religion rather than believing and trusting in the One, True, Creator God of the universe, then that is your "god". Some people believe in and depend upon "money" as their "god" because they believe and trust that if they have enough "money" they do not need anything else in life.

So the One, True, Creator God of the Universe is who we refer to as "God". He is greater than the sun, moon, and all the billions of stars, because He created them all. If He desired, He could snuff them all out in an instant. He controls all things. He is invisible because He is "Spirit", in "Spirit" form, unless He chooses to manifest, or present Himself in some other form, which He has.

For instance, God one time to present Himself as a "burning bush" to the prophet, Moses. But this was only for a short, temporary time and God did it to accomplish His purpose for getting the attention of Moses and delivering an assignment that He intended Moses to accomplish in God's Name.

Since God is in Spirit form, He is "everywhere" at the same time. Even when He was presenting Himself to Moses as a "burning bush", God was still present and active throughout the entire Universe. God is without any limit, boundary, of any type. We refer to this as being "infinite", without limitation or boundaries, and God is "infinite" in all respects.

So this is our first session in the discussion of "Who Is Jesus?". It must begin with an explanation of the question, "Who Is God?"
